Revisions
Below here are old versions of the post for my reference. You can safely ignore them.
Creating this thread now so I can come back to it later to imitate what I did last term with collating bumps photos and videos (viewtopic.php?f=48&t=1455)

Organisation
Please recruit members of lower boats/rowers on a break in your club to take some videos of the higher divisions!
See viewtopic.php?f=50&t=1488&start=10#p30030 onwards for discussions.
I'll update this post so we can see at a glance what's being covered (videoed) by who. It would be nice to have two people per division, especially for the higher ones.
Code: Select all
    Wed     Thurs   Fri     Sat
M1                  Emma    Emma
W1                  Emma    Emma
M2                 (Emma?) (Emma?)
W2
M3
W3   Fitz   Fitz   Fitz
M4   Fitz   Fitz   Fitz
W4
M5
M6

On the subject of photos, David Ponting is heroically taking photos of all divisions except M1 and W1 on Thursday and Friday.
I imagine Jet (and possibly Lafayette and possibly huge numbers of facebook albums) will fill the gaps, but it'd be nice to be sure, so anyone volunteering for photos is also welcome.

Loads of people take videos every year, which is awesome. Of course the nature of bumps is that most of the videos are all of a fixed point/corner/whatever - unless we hire a helicopter we're not going to get a video showing the whole division along the whole course. But I do have a suggestion.

There's often someone on Grassy with a camera. Sometimes people take videos of the start. Maybe this year we could use the wonders of the internet to coordinate - we could then make sure that, say, there's one person at First Post recording the start, one person sitting on the outside of Grassy recording people coming round and/or crashing, and one person on the meadow side round Ditton. And possibly people in between them on the straights. That way we could have a video of most of the course.

I say this because a few times I've watched crews I support getting close to the bump and then missed the actual bump because the cameraman wants to get the whole division or their own crew in shot.

I'm sure enough people/clubs have fairly good qual cameras and could make sure that they have someone manning them for all the divs. Who knows, maybe some inter-club cooperation might do us some good...

I for one am racing, but would be happy to lend my camera (little point & shoot, but does 720p video which tends to be pretty decent quality) and/or a tripod to this cause should non-racing people volunteer and lack equipment.

I reckon a doodle nearer the time would go a long way... Plenty of bored boaties wanting someone to tell them what to do with their lives.
