Given a men's blue gets auto-topped up to 12 points, and a goldie rower gets 6, they have a similar effect, even if its not as drastic.

Not a fan of the BR points system then...

It's almost the worst system conceivable, so no (and thankfully the big regattas have mostly abandoned it this year). But not for that reason.

Yes, only BR could come up with something worse. If it reduces the number of straight finals/crews who can't get a race due to lack of entries that's something, though.
