Hello all,
I'm the sports editor of the Tab for the term, and I wanted to trying something a little different for this year. In an effort to improve the coverage of the Bumps, I was hoping to try and gather a larger number of contributors (see rowers) who could send in information from the river bank during the day whilst watching. It wouldn't be much work, just the odd text or message when you see a bump or something particularly interesting/controversial, but it would help considerably.
I know we all tend to come to rely on a combination of Tab and CamFM coverage, and I think we'd all agree it tends to have a few mistakes, so a little crowd sourcing might be the solution. By focusing all the rumours and anecdotal reports in one place, we could potentially increase the quality of information we're all receiving. That and get lots more pictures and videos of all the inevitable horrific crashes to look at.
Ideally it would be something like M1/W1 people watching early divisions and when they go off to get ready for their races, people from lower boats kicking in for the later divisions where they're not racing. Obviously any Alums who'll be coming down to watch (and are reading this message board, we know you exist) who would like to help, feel free to contact too.
Anyways, if you're interested in helping with the coverage, drop me an email at sports[at]cambridgetab.co.uk.
Cheers,
Hugh
